Without Warning
Without Warning is a contemporary dance and music piece for eight performers. Inspired by An Evil Cradling, Brian Keenan′s insightful and poetic account of more than four years he spent as a hostage in Beirut, Lebanon from 1986 to 1990. Of An Evil Cradling, Sebastian Faulks said: "The scope and grandeur of his reflections is supported by the concrete detail of his narrative. It is a moving and remarkable triumph."
Without Warning explores the anguish of what it is to be relegated to the status of "meat" and, yet, how both the mind and spirit can still find ways to claw back reality, half-reality and meaning.
Without Warning is intended to tour unusual spaces - car parks, gallery spaces and even a disused supermarket - and to gather different and new audiences for work of this nature. The 15 performances in Old Vic Tunnels under Waterloo Station 30th Jan - 11th February 2012, will not only give a particular resonance to the sound, light and movement worlds the company have created, but will also invite the audience to be part of the work.
"How little a person knows what is in himself."
- Brian Keenan, An Evil Cradling
